From the Editor’s desk...

With this issue of Crescent International, we enter our 39th year of publication. While these have been exciting years, they have also not been uneventful. We have faced numerous challenges. There have been many attempts to undermine our efforts.

   What this reflects is a general malaise in the Ummah. We do not wish to dwell on the problems too much. There are many people, Muslims in particular that face far more serious challenges than we do. We must express our profound gratitude to Allah (Â) for giving us the opportunity to serve the Ummah at this critical juncture.

   We are also grateful to Allah (Â) that Crescent International is the only Islamic magazine left in the world with a global readership. Numerous Muslim magazines emerged, only to bite the dust. They all became top heavy with a huge staff, massive buildings and large overhead expenses. We have and continue to operate on a shoe-string budget. It is the dedication of our staff and their spirit of self-sacrifice that keeps this magazine going.

   Over the years, we have expanded our operations. Crescent International is now published on three continents and has a very strong web presence (www.crescent-online.net). We have also added a Daily News Analysis section to our web portal. While we are not a daily news service, our analysis is much sought after because of our unique perspective on events. We can only say: Alhamdulillah!
